"Baking Martha" I did this cartoon as a response to the inordinately heavy media focus on the scandal that engulfed Martha Stewart. She became a prime target due to her celebrity and popular appeal, while the criminals behind such huge corporate scandals as Enron are basically free and unaccountable for the havoc their actions wreaked on real people. I also didn't want this to be a typical Martha-as-prisoner/homemaker cartoon, but since I used the imagery I made sure it had substance too.
